The Mystic's Message

A reminder for hard days and troubled times

If you need to cry, cry.
If you need to rage, rage.
If you need to march, march.
If you need to work quietly behind the scenes, work quietly.

If you’re too exhausted and need to sit this round out, sit it out. Take care of yourself.

If you’ve been sitting on the sidelines, afraid to step in, claim your courage and step in.

This is your permission slip, if you need one.

These are your words if they resonate, and you can’t find your own.

This is your space to be accepted, respected and loved- exac…

Been there, done that

There is nothing like a new beginning. Picking up a new hobby. Starting a new career. A new relationship…

Pure possibility.

Over the years I’ve worked with many people making big transitions in their lives. Quitting a job and starting their own business. Trying to learn a new skill. Getting out of a toxic relationship, or trying to find a new partner.

When you’re taking those first awkward steps, one of the first things we tend to do is FORGET everything we already know.

You might say, “But I do…

I'll tell you where you can go...

One group of people gives you a standing ovation just for stepping on stage.

Another unceremoniously tosses you to the curb.

Logically, we know that not everyone is going to like us. But when it's coming at you in real time - the criticism, the anger, the lies- it's not so simple.

It pulls you down into the muck, trying to prove your case. Fighting. And there is a time and a place for that. I promise you, Divine Justice never fails.

But in the meantime, it's important to remember that eve…

I Give Up...

That's it...I give up.

I've had enough. I'm calling it.

Maybe you're feeling the same way.

That's ok. You're not alone.

I want you to know something before you give up though...

Giving up isn't weakness. It's not failure. And it doesn't mean that you "lose" by default.

Just the opposite, in fact.

Sometimes (often times) giving up takes more strength than fighting.

How many times have you discovered that when you stop banging your head against the wall, you can finally see the wind…

It's a TRAP!

When something is on fire, you put it out.

When alarms are blaring, you pay attention.

And when there is an emergency, you step up.

Because that's what good humans do, right?

What you may not realize is that this is a trap. One so insidious that it can keep you chained and stuck for years on end.

Whether it's war, pandemic, financial stress and worry, or illness these things tend to grab for your attention and hook you into the energy around it. Emotions run high and highjack your thoughts.

As y…

Singing Love Songs

If you really listen to the words of a love song, you’ll realize how distorted and dysfunctional the concept of love has become.

I’m not even talking about the "eff-you" break-up songs.

I’m talking about the you-complete-me-I’d-be-lost-without-you-can’t-go-on-without-you songs.

But they're only dysfunctional because they're pointed in the wrong direction...looking toward someone outside ourselves to make us feel a certain way inside.

All you really have to do to instantly transform those so…

My Secret Agenda

Excuses are about selling yourself into reasons you can’t, won’t, shouldn’t...

When you share them with others, mostly what you’re trying to do is sell them into your excuse. That way they'll let you off the hook and in turn, you can let yourself off the hook.

You may even have some well thought out argument at the ready- a sure sign that you’ve been dwelling in resistance for far too long, by the way.

If you’re persistent enough with your excuses, eventually they’ll become a self-fulfilling…

The Lightbulb Moment

It's exciting to think that one lightbulb moment can change everything.

In an instant you see things- maybe even yourself- from a radical new perspective. Clear.

I've had a few  of those revelations myself. You probably have too.

They're exciting. Sometimes terrifying. And they often bring with them an incredible sense of freedom. As if you finally set down years and years worth of struggle and baggage. Finally free to move forward in a new way.

It feels so good that you start looking fo…
